What Angry Dance Filter collects when you turn a photo into a dance video, why, and what you can do about it
2026/10/27
Angry Dance Filter is an independent website. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by CapCut, TikTok, ByteDance, or the creators of the template videos it references.
This Privacy Policy explains how the operator of angrydance.video ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you use the website, the video generator, billing, and support (together, the "Service"). It applies together with our Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, and Cookie Policy.
1. Who Is Responsible
The operator of angrydance.video is responsible for the personal data described here. For anything privacy-related, email support@angrydance.video.
2. What We Collect
Account data. When you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive the name, email address, and profile picture that provider shares with us. When you register with an email address, we store that address and a hashed version of your password — never the password itself. We also keep your account settings.
Billing data. Stripe processes your payments and tells us what we need to run your account: what you bought, when, for how much, your Stripe customer ID, and whether the payment succeeded. We never receive or store your full card number.
Photos you upload and videos we generate. The photo you upload (and any reference clip you upload, on tools that accept one), the motion template you choose, the settings for each video, the generated video, and the record of each job: its credit cost, status, error messages, and timestamps. With each generation request we also record the IP address and browser information it came from, to prevent abuse.
Usage and device data. IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, actions taken, the site and campaign that brought you to us on your first visit (saved to your account when you sign up), timestamps, error logs, and security signals. If you create an API key and use it, we also log each API request: the endpoint, status, credits used, IP address, and time.
Communications. Emails you send us, including support questions, refund requests, and abuse or rights reports.
We don't use your photos to recognise or identify anyone, and we don't build facial-recognition templates. A photo is used only to make the video you asked for and to run the safety checks described in Section 4.
3. Why We Use It
- To run the Service: sign you in, keep your credit balance, send your photo and chosen template to the model that generates your video, and return the result to your account.
- To take payments, process refunds, return the credits of failed videos, and detect fraudulent purchases.
- To keep the Service safe: check uploads and finished videos against our Acceptable Use Policy, investigate reports, and stop abuse such as multiple accounts or automated access.
- To answer your emails and fix problems.
- To understand how people find and use the Service, and to improve it.
- To send the emails needed to run your account, such as verification and password-reset messages and notices about changes to our terms.
- To comply with the law and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on the performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, and understanding and improving the Service), our legal obligations, and your consent where we ask for it.
4. AI Providers, Moderation, and Your Photos
We don't run the AI model ourselves. When you generate a video, we send the photo you uploaded, the motion template clip, a text instruction for the model, and the settings you chose to KIE, an AI model platform that runs the motion-control video model. KIE downloads these files from our servers and returns the finished video, which we copy to our own storage so you can download it from your account. Other tools on the Service, where offered, may use other model providers.
Before a video is generated, your photo, the motion clip, and any text you submit are checked by automated content-moderation services. Each finished video is checked again before we deliver it. A video that fails this final check is not delivered, and its credits are returned.
These providers process your content under their own terms and privacy policies, including their own retention for running their service, security, and abuse monitoring. We do not use your photos or videos to train AI models, and we do not use them in our marketing without your permission.
5. How We Share Personal Data
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share it only with:
- Service providers that work on our behalf: hosting, content delivery, and security (Cloudflare), our database and file storage, AI model providers (Section 4), content-moderation services, the payment processor (Stripe), sign-in providers (Google and GitHub), email delivery, and usage analytics such as Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity when we have them switched on.
- Authorities, courts, or professional advisers where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users, the public, or the Service.
- A successor if the Service is sold, merged, or reorganised, in which case this policy continues to apply to your data.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, keep track of a video that is still generating, protect the Service, and measure how it is used. The full list, and how to control it, is in our Cookie Policy.
7. How Long We Keep Data
- Account data, generation history, and credit balance: for as long as your account exists. They are deleted when you delete your account in Settings → Security.
- Uploaded photos and generated videos: kept in our cloud storage while your account exists. So that the model provider can fetch them, files are stored at long, unguessable web addresses rather than behind a login; don't share those links if you want to keep a file private. We don't promise permanent storage, so download anything you want to keep. Deleting your account removes your access to these files but does not by itself erase them from our storage or from our providers' systems. To have them erased, email support@angrydance.video from your account address; we handle erasure requests within 30 days and will explain any exception the law requires.
- Billing records: Stripe keeps transaction records for as long as tax and accounting law requires, including after you delete your account.
- Usage and security data: for as long as it is useful for security, fraud prevention, and fixing problems; the data linked to your account is deleted with it. API request logs have a 90-day retention target, though deletion can run somewhat later than day 90.
- Support emails: for as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up.
We may keep specific data longer when we need it to resolve a dispute, enforce our agreements, or meet a legal obligation.
8. International Transfers
The Service runs on global infrastructure and uses providers in several countries, so your data may be stored or processed outside the country where you live, including in countries whose privacy laws differ from yours. Where the law requires it, we rely on recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses and the safeguards our providers commit to.
9. Security
We protect your data with access controls, encryption in transit, hashed passwords, unguessable file addresses, and monitoring for abuse. No online service can promise perfect security, so use a strong, unique password or a trusted sign-in provider. If you think your account has been compromised, email us right away.
10. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
- correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- delete your data — you can delete your account yourself, and ask us to erase stored files as described in Section 7;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- withdraw consent where we rely on it, without affecting what happened before;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- complain to your local data protection authority.
To use any of these rights, email support@angrydance.video from the address on your account. We may ask for more information to confirm it's you. We reply within the time the applicable law allows, normally within 30 days, and we won't treat you differently for exercising your rights.
11. Emails
We send the emails needed to run your account, such as verification and password-reset messages, and Stripe may email you payment receipts. We don't send marketing emails. If that changes, we will ask for your consent where the law requires it, and every marketing email will include an unsubscribe link.
12. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we don't knowingly accept accounts from them. If you believe a child under 16 has given us personal data, contact us and we will review the account and delete the information.
If you upload a photo that shows a child, you must be the child's parent or legal guardian, or have their permission. We use that photo only to create the video you requested.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when the Service or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest revision. We will announce material changes on the Service or by email before they take effect.
14. Contact
